Preparing to Give Evidence - What to Expect

Giving evidence in court or at an inquiry can be a daunting experience, even for the most seasoned professional.

During our one-day courses, and with plenty of humour drawn from real-life cases, David will demystify the process and equip you with the skills to present yourself with confidence.

The courses cover:

  • The dynamics of the courtroom or inquiry setting

  • The techniques used by opposing legal teams

  • How to respond effectively under pressure

  • What the judge, coroner, or inquiry chair expects from you as a witness

Calling upon his extensive legal experience, David provides practical guidance to ensure witnesses remain calm, credible, and clear when giving evidence.

Each course is tailored to its specific setting – whether it’s the Coroner’s Court, the courtroom, or a public inquiry – and includes a breakdown of the relevant legal framework, such as the Inquiries Act 2005.

Delivered to the UK, Welsh & Manx Governments, NHS England, NARU, Police, Fire & Rescue, air accident investigators, local authorities and many others. Learn from real life court experiences and enhance your personal preparedness under the expert guidance of the experienced trial lawyer, David Burrows-Sutcliffe.
